Each year North York Minor Football honours  our players with special Awards of Distinction.

P.I.E.

Although given an unusual name this award represents the most prestigious award that a player from North York could attain. North York maintains that the attitude, perseverance and leadership, demonstrated by a player from each division is recognized to qualify for this award. To have Pride In the Effort (P.I.E.) of onself is a testimonial this player has discovered his ability within himself.

M.V.P.

An award presented for the obvious. The player that presented himself on the field as an invaluable player that the team depended on the carry the game. win or lose this player would make the play for the team.

2006

North York Minor football as dedicated a memorial award in honour of a past player who tragically passed away this April.

ALEX PADULO

Alex began his career with North York when he was 10 years old. He will be remembered fondly for his struggle  to not get injured before the season began. As time went by we saw that inner strength that far outweighed any adversity. His dedication and will to succeed was testomonial to his mother Joan who became one of our most determined and powerful volunteers. She was an integral factor in many of the functions and events that North York hosted and became a very important link to our governing body, the COMFL.

Alex suffered through many injuries through his career at North York Football, however would never accept the work failure nor would he understand the word quit.

In Memory of Alex Padulo

Our True Grit Player

We met you when you were small

And then we watched you grow tall

You took to the field with agile feet

And tackled your foes at every first meet

You left your impact on the field, right from the start

And you formed a larger one in our hearts

You left us suddenly and without warning

On a fateful day on one cold morning

You took with you an unfinished story

Of the boy turned man on the way to glory

We will never forget the history you wrought

To the game of North York football you brought

Alex Padulo will now be a name

That will forever be in North York  Bandit  fame

And to those that are yet to come forward to play

Will have to test themselves to play it your way

Because you chose your challenges as you saw fit

And tackled each one with TRUE GRIT

IN ALEX'S HONOUR THE NUMBER 75 HAS FOREVER BEEN RETIRED FROM NORTH YORK MINOR FOOTBALL
